As for the band, the spectacle that the musician plays... might be natural. But there is no rule of saying, "No, not to recite in a band." Actually, there is a live "Priest of active duty" that collects the guest and says the sutra. The image "Monk = Temple = formal" may change when you see this?
What do monks live like?
In most shaved bands, singing is a sutra. I put the sound of the instrument such as the drum and the guitar, and chant the sutra. There is also a "般若心経 (Hannya Shingyo)" which was arranged in the rock tone, and is quite novel.
I do it in various places.
We have a wide range of activities such as live street and outdoor concerts. There are a lot of "shaved bands" all over the country. There are a lot of videos on YouTube.
